School: Rutgers School of Public Health — Health Behavior, Society & Policy Title: Assistant Professor - Professional Practice Track (full-time, 12-month non-tenure track) Department: SPH-Health Systems Salary: Minimum of $114,622 Offer Information: The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Market benchmarks and internal equity are also considered to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure. We are seeking applications for a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor - Professional Practice Track appointment in the Department of Health Behavior, Society, and Policy (HBSP). Faculty in the Professional Practice title series bridge academic scholarship and real-world application, focusing on professional development and discipline-based education. We seek an experienced practitioner who will teach practical skills, mentor students, and create opportunities for experiential learning such as internships and research projects. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will contribute to the profession through applied research, consulting, and professional outreach. This position includes responsibilities related to course assessment, inclusive curriculum, and other administrative duties that support the department’s academic mission. This is a renewable, 1-year appointment.
The incumbent faculty member shall:
Teach a minimum of 3 courses per year
Use recognized teaching methods to implement novel curriculum, teaching methodologies, or programs through in-person and online teaching modalities
Utilize recognized best practices for science education, including active and experiential learning pedagogies
Provide academic and practicum advising and mentorship to Master of Public Health and DrPH students and serve on DrPH committees
Collaborate with faculty and leadership from the School of Public Health and other relevant programs to ensure assigned courses meet departmental needs
Develop a system to demonstrate that the minimum educational requirements are met for each course
Have the opportunity to collaborate on grant-writing and peer-reviewed publications
Participate in departmental and School service
