We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Professional to join our growing team at a startup fertilizer production facility. In this role, you’ll be the central hub for coordinating and executing maintenance activities, ensuring that our equipment stays reliable, safe, and efficient at our Fremont facility. You’ll work closely with Fertilizer Production Technicians, the R&D team, and site leadership to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
As our Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Professional, you’ll be responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance at the plant to ensure our reactors, pumps, tanks, motors, sensors, and other production equipment operate at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and prioritize corrective maintenance tasks based on urgency and production impact
Kitting of maintenance jobs prior to their start to reduce delays
Collaborate with production technicians to identify recurring issues and plan long‑term solutions
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage
Coordinate and interface with external maintenance contractors as needed
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations
Adjust plans and schedules in real‑time to respond to equipment failures or production changes
Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience as a maintenance mechanic
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing or chemical plant
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a startup environment
Comfortable working around chemical processing equipment and wearing appropriate PPE
Ability to wear a respirator and lift heavy equipment when needed
Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Team‑oriented with good communication skills
Willingness to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced startup environment
Compensation: $40- $50
3 weeks of paid vacation
7 company holidays and 4 floating holidays
