Our client is seeking an experienced
Payroll Director
to oversee all aspects of payroll operations across a complex, multi-entity healthcare system. This role will lead a team responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll processing while driving strategic initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Overview This role will lead payroll operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and strategies align with organizational goals. The Payroll Director will partner with senior leadership to plan and execute strategic initiatives supporting long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Provide value-based leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities for payroll team members.
Lead payroll operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and strategies align with organizational goals.
Partner with senior leadership to plan and execute strategic initiatives supporting long-term objectives.
Payroll Operations
Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment for all employees.
Manage tax filings in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; ensure timely updates to all tax tables and records.
Oversee benefits deductions, garnishments, and reconciliations.
Evaluate and enhance payroll systems and internal controls to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Develop, implement, and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
Coordinate with state and federal agencies (e.g., Department of Labor, Unemployment offices) as needed.
Generate and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports.
Data Integrity & Confidentiality
Maintain responsibility for the accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of payroll data.
Ensure timely updates to system information and oversee related system maintenance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive payroll management experience.
Strong experience with ADP and UKG systems highly preferred.
Deep knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and best practices in payroll compliance and reporting.
