About The Job As People Director, North America, you will play a pivotal role in supporting how we attract, grow, and engage talent across the region. You will partner closely with business leaders and the global People team to implement people strategies, organizational initiatives, and cultural transformation that fuel business performance and growth.

This is not a maintenance role; it’s a build and enablement role. You’ll be helping support and shape the People function of a new, independent organization with a bold mission and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to how Opella grows and thrives across North America and beyond.

Main Responsibilities People Strategy

Partner with business leaders to support the implementation of a People strategy that enables short-, mid-, and long‑term business objectives and ambitions.

Support the development and execution of the People roadmap for the assigned functions, aligned with the global Opella People strategy and regional business priorities.

Act as a key partner in embedding the Opella standalone mindset, contributing to our ambition to be the best Fast Moving Consumer Health company IN & FOR the World.

Contribute to regional business reviews, strategic planning, and budget cycles; collaborate with Finance on workforce planning to help optimize resources and costs.

Provide insights and recommendations to adapt the People roadmap and priorities in response to changing market or geopolitical dynamics.

People and Organizational Development

Support organizational assessments to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities, helping design and recommend structures, capabilities, and workforce solutions that drive business performance.

Help ensure North America remains agile and competitively positioned in its people practices to adapt to evolving market conditions.

Partner with global and regional colleagues on Talent Management and Succession Planning to maintain strong pipelines and development plans for critical roles.

Contribute to building and sustaining a talent pool by coordinating internal and external development opportunities as key retention drivers.

Support the execution of global Employer Branding initiatives to strengthen Opella’s reputation as a destination for top talent.

Act as a local champion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) in close collaboration with the global People Center of Expertise.

People Operations

Support workforce planning, headcount tracking, and critical vacancy management activities for North America.

Partner with the global Talent team on recruitment planning, budgeting, and reporting to help ensure timely and cost‑effective hiring.

Assist in the regional rollout of global People systems, tools, and frameworks to enhance the employee and manager experience.

About You

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business, Human Resources, or related field.

Formal HR education is not mandatory if supported by strong professional experience.

Substantial experience as an HR professional within a multinational and matrix organization, ideally supporting multi‑country or regional teams.

Proven ability to act as a trusted business partner and enabler, supporting strategic and operational HR initiatives.

Solid background in leadership development, organizational design, compensation, employee relations, and change management.

Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and hands‑on delivery.

Experience in fast‑moving consumer goods, consumer healthcare, or similar dynamic industries preferred.

Comfortable supporting labor relations topics with sound judgment and pragmatism.

Financially literate, with solid analytical and workforce planning capabilities.

Demonstrated agility and comfort operating amid ambiguity, change, and high growth.

Salary range: $148,000.00 – $220,000.00
