GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the guidance of the Branch Director, the Program Director is responsible for the development and implementation of programs based on identified needs in the Wichita Collective Impact communities. Programs will be designed to reach the overarching goal of the initiative serving various audiences throughout the full calendar year.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum age of 21
One year management experience required to include hiring, firing, reviewing, and budget
Relevant department experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to routinely perform the following physical activities; climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for extended periods of time, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks
Must have ability to lead and delegate to others and communicate effectively; both orally and in writing
Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness
Must demonstrate initiative in absence of supervision
Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines
Must possess ability to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality
Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times

Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, and Listen First Workshop in accordance with Conditions of Employment
Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch
Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association
Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch; including evenings and weekends
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Staff/Volunteer Development
Recruit, hire, train, schedule and manage program staff.
Review and evaluate staff performance.
Maintaining staff and volunteer retention through positive reinforcement and support.
Responsible for documented staff meetings/development and trainings.
Program Operations
Effectively communicating the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA.
Develop and implement programs directly serving the identified needs of the target audiences.
Ensure all programs comply with YMCA standards and methods of operation.
Monitor and evaluate delivery and effectiveness of programs striving to attain the highest possible level of quality.
Assist in the development of recruiting tools for full program capacity/attendance.
Be visible within the program facility and community.
Respond to all program and community inquiries and concerns within 24 hours.
Communicate in a timely manner to supervisor.
Fiscal Management
Stay within the grant budget as assigned.
Monitor purchases stay within the designated design of the programs.
Assist in the development of new program budgets.
Strong Community Campaign/Financial Development
Participate in assigned aspects of Strong Community Campaign to ensure goals are met.
Facilities
Maintain complete familiarity with all risk management procedures and policies of facilities being used by programs.
Maintain program area in an orderly, clean and safe condition. Reporting any irregularities to facility supervisors.
Keep an up to date inventory on all program equipment, materials and supplies.
Other
Serve as a member of the branch team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations.
Communicating information promptly to all branch leadership and departmental staff.
Attending applicable training and conferences to further professional development.
All other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULT Wichita Collective Impact programming serves the identified needs of the target audience and the achievement of goals and objectives are met with high levels of participation, satisfaction and retention.
