Job Summary
A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for the pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and immediate post‑operative care of patients requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. This position will rotate throughout different hospitals in the healthcare system and provide anesthesia services across a variety of clinical settings, including academic medical centers, community hospitals, and ambulatory centers.
Essential Functions Develop anesthesia care plans.
Serve as a resource for nursing staff on complex clinical cases and ethical dilemmas.
Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Calibrate and test anesthesia equipment.
Monitor the life support functions of patients during periods of anesthesia for procedures or emergencies as needed.
Prepare and evaluate the safety of anesthetic equipment, supplies, and drugs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Provide patient care (direct and indirect) as required.
Qualifications Education:
Master’s Degree in Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required.
Licenses and Credentials:
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA – National) required.
Experience:
Experience as a CRNA 0–1 year preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and pharmacology related to anesthesia. Experienced with a variety of anesthesia techniques for adult and pediatric populations. Comfortable in fast‑paced, dynamic, team‑based care settings; able to work independently and collaboratively. Strong interpersonal skills to work with surgeons and staff across varied cases and environments. Ability to adapt to changing procedures and teams, work according to OR schedules, and respond promptly in verbal and written communication.
