Structural Engineer III

The position focuses on seismic design, seismic retrofits, and advanced structural analysis methods. The engineer will work with senior team members on large-scale projects and independently manage smaller assignments, including design, analysis, reporting, and coordination. Mentors junior engineers and grows technical and project management skills. Responsibilities
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment under guidance, progressing toward independent work. Gathers and correlates engineering data using established procedures. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests. Proposes approaches to solve new problems using modifications of standard procedures. Identifies discrepancies in results and communicates findings. Provides guidance to entry-level engineers. Adheres to budget and schedule with minimal supervision. Independently completes primary design elements for engineering works. Develops professional experience toward increased responsibility. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with minimum 4 years of structural design experience (steel, concrete, masonry) or demonstrated equivalency. Professional License in California (PE). Experience applying major structural design codes (IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, etc.). Experience using 3-D structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE). Experience designing in Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber. Experience with Wind and Seismic lateral design, particularly ASCE 41 for retrofit of existing structures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with REVIT/AutoCAD to collaborate with production teams. Preferred
Master of Science (structural engineering concentration). Professional License in California (SE). Experience with performance-based design. Experience with ASCE 41 for retrofit of existing structures is highly desirable. Additional Information
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required. Sponsorship is not available for this role. Compensation: USD 120,000 - USD 133,000 per year; exact offer based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. About AECOM
