Role Overview The Director will oversee due diligence and lead the closing process for the company’s real estate investments supporting solar and battery storage projects. This role involves coordinating with legal and technical teams to evaluate project opportunities, manage risk, and ensure successful transactions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in renewable energy, project finance, or real estate acquisitions, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct due diligence on potential real estate acquisitions for solar and battery storage projects
Review site leases, financial models, engineering reports, interconnection documents, surveys, supplier and offtake contracts, and construction schedules to ensure compliance with company investment standards
Assess project information to identify risks, flag issues to leadership, and recommend mitigation strategies
Collaborate with real estate counsel on title reviews and other property‑related matters
Coordinate with the investor relations team to align diligence with financing partner requirements
Manage third‑party technical, commercial, and policy advisors supporting transaction execution
Prepare diligence summaries, checklists, and investment committee materials for internal approvals
Lead the closing process with customers, attorneys, and counterparties, maintaining clear communication on conditions to close and timelines
Work with legal counsel to track closing checklists and ensure timely completion of all requirements
Oversee finalization of title insurance policies that meet commercial and company standards
Communicate key dates and funding needs to the corporate finance team to support timely capital allocation
Contribute to capital raise efforts by providing project‑level diligence and transaction support
Qualifications
Extensive experience in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, or project development within the solar or energy storage sectors; MBA a plus
Strong grasp of project development, construction, and financing risks with the ability to identify and mitigate exposure
Knowledge of key commercial agreements used in renewable energy projects, including PPAs, interconnection documents, site leases, and permits
Proven ability to independently manage complex closings involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Skilled in financial modeling and advanced Excel analysis
Exceptional communication and project management abilities, with a talent for adapting to client needs and maintaining clear timelines
