Position Summary Research Assistant Professorship is a non‑tenure track position, renewable annually for up to three years. The incumbent will teach three courses per year, conduct research, and contribute to the department’s intellectual life. The primary duties are to teach, advise students, conduct research, and serve the department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach three courses per year, providing instruction in courses within the department’s expertise.
Advise undergraduate and graduate students in research projects.
Conduct a high quality research program in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or an interdisciplinary area.
Participate in departmental service, including service to the university and to the profession.
Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, mathematics education, or a related field, expected by the start date.
Evidence of outstanding research potential and a strong research record in the area of specialization.
Commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated by experience or evidence of effective teaching.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with faculty and students.
