The Global Monetization Product and Technology Legal team supports TikTok’s innovative and state‑of‑the‑art advertising products. We’re growing fast and you’ll work on the most exciting legal issues as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. In this role, you would lead legal review and take a collaborative approach to help build TikTok’s performance ad products that are used around the world. You would support various ad format verticals, various industry verticals, core ads algorithms, various ecommerce ad types, and our ad‑buying tools including our automated and AIGC‑powered tools. We are seeking a highly experienced, bright, and capable attorney with substantial expertise across ad tech, privacy, consumer protection, AIGC, automation, regulatory engagement, IP and more.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary global legal advisor for designated product verticals, partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams worldwide to understand and support new products and technologies.

Provide proactive legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle—from early development through launch and post‑launch—by identifying potential risks and delivering practical risk‑mitigation strategies.

Support negotiations and contracting with third‑party technology partners.

Collaborate with cross‑functional legal teams to ensure coordinated, comprehensive global advice.

Contribute to drafting public‑facing materials that describe new products and technologies.

Qualifications

Extensive legal experience gained through private practice and/or in‑house roles.

Familiarity with global legal issues impacting digital advertising, including consumer protection, privacy, AIGC, automation and IP.

Exceptional legal and business judgment, with the ability to think both strategically and creatively.

Highly detail‑oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Self‑motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of projects and quickly learn emerging areas of law and technology.

Ability to write with clarity, precision, and impact.

Preferred Qualifications

Product counseling experience on AI, AIGC, and automation.

Product counseling experience on model training, evaluation, and deployment.
