Property Accountant

position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive accounting team while gaining exposure to multiple assets within a growing real estate portfolio. With strong leadership, a balanced workload, and

half-day Fridays , this role is ideal for an accounting professional seeking both stability and growth in a people-first environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Property Accountant

Perform

full-cycle accounting

for assigned properties, including monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting

Manage

fund-level accounting

activities such as property taxes, insurance, and debt service

Handle

escrow accounts

for insurance, taxes, and capital improvement projects

Prepare

monthly financial statements , cash flow forecasts, and investor reporting packages

Track term loans, monitor cost of goods sold, and assist with variance and trend analysis

Process monthly

sales and use tax

filings

Ensure compliance with

GAAP

and internal accounting standards

Collaborate cross-functionally with

operations and asset management

to align financial and operational performance

Qualifications of the Property Accountant

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within

property management or real estate

Proficiency in

QuickBooks

and

advanced Excel

(pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)

Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking

Solid understanding of

GAAP

principles

Preferred: Experience with

multi-entity

or

fund-based

accounting environments

Familiarity with

real estate tax, insurance, and escrow

processes

Excellent communication and time management skills
