Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
Process accounts payable invoices and payments with accuracy and timeliness
Manage accounts receivable functions, including posting cash receipts and following up on outstanding balances
Perform daily data entry and maintain organized financial records
Prepare and post general ledger and journal entries
Assist with bank reconciliations and account reconciliations as needed
Collaborate with the accounting team on reporting, month-end close, and special projects
Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting processes
Qualifications - Commensurate with Experience
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related roles
Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software systems
Reliable, professional, and comfortable working 100% onsite
Preferred: 4-8 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
Solid understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles
Experience with journal entries, accruals, and bank reconciliations
Prior exposure to month-end close and balance sheet analysis
CPA, CPA-eligible, or prior public accounting (Big 4) experience a plus
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify process improvements
