Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and efficient operation of heavy machinery and construction equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including excavators, cranes, track loaders, dumpers, forklifts, telehandlers, and farm machinery. - Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics. - Conduct fabrication as needed to ensure equipment functionality. - Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively. - Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repair work. - Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used. - Deliver excellent customer service and collaborate effectively with team members. - Communicate with the service manager regarding maintenance and repair activities. - Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, brakes, HVAC systems, electrical systems, transmissions, alignments, hydraulics, suspensions, and tires. - Demonstrate strong diagnostic and tuning skills.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of experience with mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment. - Proficient in diagnosing and performing repairs using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. - Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions. - Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team. - Dealership experience preferred.
