Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of buildings and facilities. This includes routine cleaning tasks, minor maintenance, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in offices, hallways, restrooms, and other areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated areas.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, windowsills, and furniture.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors.
• Report major repairs or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good condition.
• Follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals responsibly.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor settings.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• May require evening or weekend shifts depending on facility needs.
