Responsibilities

  • Establish sound operating procedures for cash receipts and payments, revenue recognition, payroll, month-end close, and reporting; document and standardize procedures where possible.
  • Comply with the Ansay & Associates LLC Accounting Procedural Manual.
  • Oversee responsibilities delegated to other members of the Accounting or Administrative Department (Reception/Accounting Assistant).
  • Reconcile cash, accounts receivable, insurance company payable accounts, revenue-related accounts, intercompany accounts, and producer payables monthly.
  • Reconciling balance sheet and profit & loss accounts on a regular basis (monthly/quarterly) as appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting.
  • Utilize EPIC accounting areas and workflows effectively.
  • Document procedures for month-end close, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements, timing and responsibility; standardize month-end journal entries (including accruals).
  • Understand each line of business to provide useful information, improve efficiency, and identify cost savings.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly payroll functions for designated offices within the UKG HRIS system.

HR Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for questions and administration of basic human resources functions for local staff; escalate to the Director of Human Resources or HR Business Partner as needed.
  • Stay informed and utilize provided HR resources and the Ansay Employee Handbook.
  • Understand benefits and payroll processes to inform accounting (new hire information, benefit recording, payroll accruals, PTO, bonus accruals, etc.).

Audit Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounting Manager(s) and Accounting Assistant(s) within the assigned office(s).
  • Ensure timely and efficient processes on all financial and accounting tasks.
  • Analyze inconsistencies, recommend solutions or process improvements to the Agency Finance Manager and/or CFO, and execute on direction.
  • Deliver best-in-class, on-time work products and submissions for all team members.

M&A Responsibilities

  • Assist CFO with due diligence and testing – Agency Bill Receivables, Premiums Due Customers and Credits Due Customers, Insurance Company Payables, Producer Payables, Revenue.
  • Assist newly partnered agency with post-deal checklist and timeline.
  • Set up all areas needed to transfer financial operations from purchased Agency to Ansay.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA is preferred, but not required
  • Three years or more of direct experience in Accounting
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal, written, face to face)
