Akkodis currently has a Senior Software Developer position with a client located in Victor, NY. This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to live within 50 miles of Victor, NY. The role involves working onsite and remotely. No C2C or agencies allowed.
Pay/Salary Range: $120,000–133,500 (negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location or other factors).
Responsibilities
Maintain and improve existing Point‑of‑Sale applications.
Ensure that solutions meet current requirements and are extensible for future requirements.
Ensure that solutions are consistent with the company’s strategic technical direction.
Deliver high‑quality solutions on time and within budget.
Act as a technical lead on projects, as well as a senior analyst and developer.
Advise and assist in all phases of the SDLC process, including selection and implementation of SDLC tools.
Mentor other technical team members.
Follow processes and standards as defined by management.
Advise on other projects that need technical “repair.”
Promote technical solutions to internal business units and external customers.
Generate technical and user documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent extensive and related experience.
5+ years of experience in the development of mission critical applications in distributed environments/architectures.
Expertise in the following web development technologies: Java (J2SE), JDBC, SQL, JSP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Web Server, Web Services, ReactJS, JSON, REST API.
Experience in client, server, n‑tier architecture, and web‑based application development.
Expertise with object‑oriented design and development.
Experience in Retail Point‑of‑Sale is a plus.
Experience in Payment Processing (Credit cards, Digital Wallets, Stored Value) is a plus.
Experience with POS peripherals (payment devices, receipt printers, cash drawers, pole displays, etc.) is a plus.
Experience with SDLC processes and tools.
Ability to develop high‑quality technical specifications for mission critical solutions implemented in a distributed environment.
Passion for technology: desire to maintain a current knowledge of industry trends and tools.
Desire to help and solve business and system issues for retailers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Effective time management and organizational skills, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to easily adapt to a dynamic changing work environment.
High level of personal integrity and business ethics.
High-level salary: $120,000.00 to $134,000.00 per year.
