HVAC Project Manager Summary: A leading commercial mechanical contractor is seeking an HVAC Project Manager for their growing Wilmington, NC operations. This individual will take on a hybrid role that combines project management with estimating and business development responsibilities. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who understands mechanical systems, thrives in client-facing environments, and is eager to grow into a future leadership role as the Wilmington division expands. A company vehicle is provided, and while field site visits are expected, this role will have more office-based work compared to similar roles. Responsibilities

Manage HVAC construction projects from kickoff to closeout, including scheduling, labor coordination, materials procurement, and client communication Perform takeoffs, assist in mechanical estimating, and generate scopes and budgets for proposed work Identify and pursue new project opportunities in the Wilmington market in collaboration with leadership and estimators in Raleigh Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, vendors, and prospective clients to support long-term pipeline growth Support project and business development initiatives including networking, proposal development, and preconstruction meetings Ensure safety, quality control, and adherence to project specifications throughout the project lifecycle Coordinate with field foremen and office teams to ensure smooth project execution and accurate documentation Participate in weekly project planning meetings and labor forecasting Qualifications

Job Requirements: 7+ years of HVAC project management experience in commercial construction; prior estimating or sales experience is highly preferred Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems (hydronic, VRF, ductwork, controls) and mechanical drawings Ability to interact professionally with GCs, clients, and field personnel; strong communication and organizational skills are essential Experience with project software tools (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Excel) and ability to quickly learn internal systems Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering or similar field highly preferred
