The

Logistics and Transportation Manager

will oversee all freight, shipping, and distribution operations for a global flavor manufacturing company. This role manages relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery of materials and finished goods worldwide. The ideal candidate has strong experience in transportation management, import/export compliance, and building efficient logistics networks within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Freight and Transportation Management

Lead all inbound and outbound freight activities, including coordination with 3PLs, carriers, and freight forwarders. Negotiate freight rates and contracts to achieve cost savings and reliable service. Oversee import/export documentation and ensure compliance with DOT, CBP, and FDA regulations. Monitor transportation performance, delivery schedules, and freight spend to drive continuous improvement. Logistics Operations and Vendor Management

Manage daily shipping and receiving activities to meet customer and production needs. Maintain strong relationships with logistics providers to ensure high service quality and responsiveness. Resolve shipping delays, damage claims, and carrier performance issues. Develop and track KPIs related to freight cost, on-time delivery, and carrier performance. Team Leadership and Collaboration

Supervise a small logistics team supporting transportation, shipping, and customer deliveries. Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, and Planning to align shipments with business priorities. Promote a safe, efficient, and service-focused logistics operation. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. 5-7 years of logistics, freight, or transportation management experience in manufacturing or distribution. Proven experience managing 3PLs, carriers, and freight forwarders. Knowledge of international shipping, import/export documentation, and compliance regulations. Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. ERP or transportation management system (TMS) experience preferred. What We Offer
