To advance these efforts, we are seeking highly motivated computational scientists with expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines. In this role, you will help expand our core computational engine, both by utilizing existing AI and bioinformatics resources and designing novel algorithms, while working in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team and leading contract research laboratories. About the position The

Computational Biologist I/II

will work primarily on-site at our premises in Baltimore. You will report to the Chief Technology Officer and work closely with them and our growing computational team to build out our platform. You will further work alongside our experimental team to validate aspects of our platform and design gene therapy candidates for our therapeutic pipeline. Additionally, you will contribute to basic front-end design and work with external teams to design our partner-facing platform. Key responsibilities: Platform expansion:

Code development and testing for new platform capabilities Platform validation:

Collaboratively design and perform studies to validate platform DevOps:

Support development and maintenance of our codebase on AWS, ensuring scalability and reliability, and contribute to front-end design Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external team to build computational resources that integrate seamlessly into experimental pipelines and to expand our platform in response to gene therapy needs Qualifications: A Ph.D. in computational biology, computational genomics, bioinformatics, machine learning, computer science, or a related field, or a M.S. in those fields with 2+ years relevant industry experience Strong experience writing clean, efficient, and well-documented python code in a Unix environment. AI algorithm development experience using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and/or scikit-learn, ideally including adapting/fine-tuning pre-trained models for specific applications. Next generation sequencing data experience preferred. Experience building on AWS or other cloud platforms preferred. Self-starting, curious team player with a drive to advance next-generation biotechnology and motivation to build and expand computational skills outside of core domains. Why Aletira?
