The Ohio Department of Development is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative
Senior Financial Analyst
to support our Finance Division. In this key role, you’ll help ensure the financial activities that drive our programs to run smoothly and efficiently. You'll work at the heart of state operations—processing critical financial transactions, resolving errors, and determining appropriate actions with internal and external involvement—all while contributing to the mission of growing Ohio's communities and economy. Responsibilities
Engage as an integral part of Development’s procurement process, analyzing purchasing requests to recommend the appropriate purchasing strategy Collaborate with program and legal teams throughout the purchasing cycle to advance the mission of the Department of Development Work with vendors to complete contracts, arrange the proper supporting documentation to ensure accurate and timely payment Facilitate agency wide communications on procurement projects for maximum transparency and efficiency Complete purchases as the division P-Card holder and reconcile purchases to the banking system Assist in updating and recommend changes in fiscal or purchasing processes Train agency staff on fiscal policies and procedures Work in multiple systems, including OAKS, OhioBuys, and Salesforce, to find and verify information and advance the purchase of and payment for goods and services to support the operations of the agency Qualifications
42 months experience or 42 months training in accounting and/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software. Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 months experience or 18 months training in accounting and/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software. Or completion of graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 months experience or 6 months training in accounting and/or finance to include an advanced level of experience in spreadsheet software. Or 12 months experience as Financial Analyst, 66562. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
