About Brookstone Animal Hospital
Brookstone Animal Hospital is a full‑service, AAHA‑accredited veterinary medical facility located in Acworth, Georgia. The hospital occupies 10,000 square feet and includes six exam rooms, a dedicated dental suite, an in‑house lab and pharmacy, and advanced diagnostic equipment such as radiography, ultrasounds, tonometry, and dental rads.
Our team consists of four veterinarians, a hospital manager, an associate hospital manager, 13 veterinary assistants, an experienced RVT, four customer service representatives, a kennel staff of eight, and one groomer.
We offer anesthetic monitoring, soft‑tissue surgeries, laser therapy, OFA certification, dermatology, and nutritional counseling. If you are an upcoming graduate looking for solid mentorship or a seasoned doctor seeking collaboration, we would love to meet with you.
Overview The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high‑quality care to our patients while also building rapport with their owners. Physical examinations, surgeries, dentistry, client communication and education are paramount.
Responsibilities
Develop a rapport with clients, determine their needs, and perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate a diagnosis to the client, generate and present a treatment plan, and educate clients on preventative health care, vaccines, and appropriate nutritional products.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and ensure all necessary logs are kept up‑to‑date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow‑up and future management of the patient.
Stay up‑to‑date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, and attend Continuing Education meetings.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which the applicant is applying.
Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
Ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members.
Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
Compassionate team player who can uphold a great reputation with clients.
A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Proficiency in surgery a plus.
