Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience.
Responsibilities Position is based in a hospital setting with Level 1 Trauma and teaching designation Med/Surg and telemetry inpatient units with patient ratios of 1:4-6 Float pool role requiring floating to all Med/Tele units as needed Typical unit size ranges from 20 to 36 beds per Med/Surg unit Patient population includes a range of medical-surgical and telemetry cases 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Technology includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, Philips monitors, and Nova Glucose Stat Strips No on-call requirements Holiday coverage required for specified major holidays Responsibilities include comprehensive care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including management of specialized drips and equipment Support from CNAs, charge nurses, resource team, PICC team, 24/7 RT, and in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage is available Most lab draws from CVLs are performed by RNs; no dedicated IV team Centralized telemetry monitoring is provided Team oriented and busy unit culture Orientation includes one day of facility orientation and two days departmental training Navy scrubs required for RNs Free parking available on campus First-time travelers will be considered for this position
Requirements Active GA or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience Current BLS certification required ACLS preferred; must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding Experience managing trach care, chest tubes, PIV starts, glucometers, and titratable drips such as insulin and heparin Familiarity with Epic EMR and use of Alaris IV pumps
