Qualifications
Educational Background:
Master’s degree from an accredited program in speech pathology or its equivalent Certification:
Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) Licensure:
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a speech-language pathologist or CFY in the state of Florida Professional Membership:
Active membership in state and national American Speech and Hearing Associations is a plus Interpersonal Skills:
Strong administrative and public relations skills to effectively engage with patients and staff Therapeutic Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of speech therapy principles, methods, materials, and equipment Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of potential hazards during treatment and the necessary precautions to ensure patient safety Collaborative Spirit:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and medical staff Communication Skills:
Capable of understanding and interpreting physicians’ directions to recommend appropriate treatment programs Emotional Stability:
Demonstrated ability to manage the demands of patient care and team dynamics Confidentiality:
Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of patient and employee information Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement, clinical experience in dysphagia assessment and treatment, and familiarity with Net Health Responsibilities
Provide exceptional care for residents as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Collaborate with patients and medical staff to establish and maintain effective treatment programs Interpret physicians’ directions to recommend appropriate treatment plans Maintain patient safety and confidentiality in all interactions Benefits and Work Environment
