Associate Vice President, Head of Private Practice Transactions A highly regarded client in the Charlotte area is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Real Estate Attorney to join their expanding legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions and development matters. This role requires a deep understanding of real estate law, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex legal issues related to property acquisition, leasing, financing, and land use.
Key Responsibilities
Represent matters with acquisition, disposition, and development of commercial real estate assets.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, subleases, easements, declarations, condominium documents, and other real estate‑related agreements.
Advise on title matters, including title insurance, encumbrances, and resolution of title defects.
Negotiate and draft commercial loan documents, including construction loans, permanent financing, and refinancing agreements.
Provide counsel on land use, zoning, and condemnation issues, including representation before governmental and regulatory bodies.
Advise clients on tax‑deferred exchanges (1031 exchanges), opportunity zone investments, and other real‑estate‑related tax strategies.
Draft and negotiate joint‑venture agreements and other partnership arrangements related to real‑estate development and investment.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the North Carolina state bar or ability to waive in.
5+ years of experience in commercial real estate law.
Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, leasing, financing, and land use regulations.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
