We are seeking a
Project Engineer
to join our team and contribute to multi‑discipline design projects on a full‑time, direct basis at our office in Newark, NJ. This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of public and private site development projects and work with municipal clients across various markets.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects and tasks, monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion.
Meet regularly with clients.
Prepare proposals for new and existing clients, including estimation of project fees.
Oversee the development of Land Development Plans, preparing engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from schematic design through construction.
Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large‑scale, complex projects.
Delegate workload to Junior Engineers and Drafters, mentoring them in Stormwater Management, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control design.
Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
8+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land‑development design projects.
PE license in NJ (candidates who can obtain their PE within 6 months of start are considered).
Preferred Qualifications
Additional certification (e.g., Certified Municipal Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager, Professional Planner).
Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to manage multi‑discipline projects.
Advanced proficiency with site design functions including site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, and municipal & land‑use regulatory approvals.
Experience with stormwater management and H&H modeling tools.
Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g., CADD, project management software); AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam Revu (plus).
Ability to view the big picture while coordinating design disciplines.
Consistent punctuality and attendance record.
Effective team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
Strong problem‑solving skills across diverse projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
TARGET SALARY RANGE: $120K - $130k (per year)
