Overview
GFT is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Construction Services team in the Southeast area. This role follows a hybrid work model and can be based near any of our Southeast office locations. At GFT, we're engineering the future with a focus on safety, quality, and sustainability. We oversee construction management to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor the firm\'s occupational health and safety management system and compliance strategies for the Southeast region. Oversee administration of the Regional Occupational Medical Monitoring Program. Manage and mentor Regional Safety Coordinators, including leading bi-monthly meetings. Monitor compliance with applicable regulations and client-specific requirements. Conduct field hazard assessments and prepare written reports with corrective or preventative recommendations. Develop and facilitate safety training for employees. Aid in investigation of incidents and contribute across regional business lines. Communicate effectively across the organization from staff inspectors to the board of directors. Research federal regulations and international standards and develop compliance strategies. Conduct workstation assessments and address ergonomic concerns. Collaborate with Legal, HR, Insurance, and other departments as needed. Education | Experience
Eight (8) years of experience in health and safety management. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant environmental/occupational health and safety standards. Bachelor\'s degree in Science or related field, or in lieu of experience four (4) years of relevant experience. Preferred certifications: OHST, CHST, ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH. What we prefer you bring
Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a diverse team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and pay attention to detail. Technical writing and presentation skills. Experience developing, facilitating, and performing safety trainings. Familiarity with ISNetWorld and Avetta prequalification systems. Knowledge of business continuity programs including natural disasters and pandemic planning. OSHA Authorized Trainer for 10-hour/30-hour Construction Health & Safety. Additional Notes
Must be able to travel ~50% of the time within the SE Region. Minimum OSHA 10-hour construction safety course preferred. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Office environment; ability to sit or stand for extended periods and travel as needed. Compensation
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits
