What You Will Do The
Senior Electrical Engineer
role will be an integral member of the Engineering team. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will have both Capital Project and Plant Support responsibilities. For Capital Projects, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will participate in large capital projects in cooperation with Design‑Build contractors to design and implement large brown field pet food manufacturing facility expansions. This role will be responsible for the coordination and development of electrical designs, electrical specifications, construction management, and equipment commissioning. In addition to the capital projects, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will have responsibilities for plant support of existing operating facilities. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation of existing electrical systems and the management of proactive electrical maintenance programs. Will be responsible to perform engineering studies including load studies, arc flash, and power management. Will be responsible to provide technical support and troubleshooting to manufacturing operations as needed.
How You Will Make An Impact
Coordination and review of Design‑Builder electrical drawings, specifications, and other technical documents. Provide guidance on the electrical scope of work and project electrical requirements
Develop and evaluate designs, P&IDs, and drawings for technical content and correctness.
Ensures that projects are completed safely, timely, cost effectively, and are of desired quality. Technical support, coordination of materials and resources required for the engineering work, ensuring engineering activities and installations are compliant with applicable regulations, industry standards, and Company policies
Ensure engineering standards for projects are designed to NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards (and other standards as required) and that construction conforms to the standards
Develop and manage a detailed proactive electrical maintenance program
Perform engineering studies including load flow, arc flash, surge suppression, relay coordination, ground grid design, transformer sizing, conductor, and cable sizing, etc.
Control project budgets including cost forecasts, cash flow projections and regular reporting
Create conceptual design documents, drawings, and scope of work parameters for project solutions
Develop and manage a detailed proactive electrical maintenance program
Coordinates consultants, vendors and subcontractors as needed based on project requirements
Provide technical support and troubleshooting to manufacturing operations as needed
Identify, evaluate, and implement new equipment, technologies, and practices to improve manufacturing and infrastructure reliability, improve quality and sustainability, and reduce operational costs
Coordinates with the internal EH&S resources to implement equipment safety standards and procedures. Supports equipment safety upgrades as needed in the plant network. Supports commitment‑based safety. Promotes use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and good daily safety practices and habits
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's Degree (BS) in a related Engineering area (Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical or equivalent industry experience highly preferred)
A minimum of 8 years of Project Engineering related experience with minimum of 3 years within food and beverage manufacturing preferred
Large green/brown field plant design and construction project experience a strong plus
A good working knowledge of power distribution and motor and machine electrical control
Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures & schematic diagrams
Ability to work off‑hours and weekends/holidays as needed
Computer skills:
Auto CAD proficiency preferred
Microsoft Project proficiency preferred
Microsoft Office Suite required
