Overview The Veterinarian is responsible for providing high quality care to patients while developing rapport with owners. In addition to physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, client communication and client education are of utmost importance. Mission Pet Health Veterinarians treat each pet and client like part of the family.
Responsibilities
Develop rapport with clients and determine their needs; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures with highest quality care while minimizing patient stress.
Explain examination findings and diagnose pet’s problems; present treatment plans; educate clients on preventive health care including vaccines and nutrition.
Maintain patient records and ensure all logs are up‑to‑date; assist colleagues with follow‑up and future management.
Stay current with new medical information and attend continuing education meetings.
Assist in developing the paraprofessional team to deliver highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and to the general public.
Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Qualifications / Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is applying.
Professional comportment and appearance; excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
Ability to make decisions and communicate clearly with team members.
Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
Compassionate team player who upholds great reputation with clients.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Proficiency in surgery a plus.
