Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of refrigeration, heating, and air‑conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
Operate independently with minimal supervision and develop customer relationships.
Match customer needs with potential sales opportunities and execute rapid, accurate diagnoses.
Manage truck inventory: order, receive, bill out, and maintain parts responsibly while minimizing waste.
Maintain assigned vehicle per company guidelines and perform scheduled maintenance.
Complete required documents and electronic communications accurately and timely.
Utilize tools such as mirrors, flashlights, PVC drainpipe installation, glass door adjustment, temperature sensors, brazing, soldering, and proper coil layout.
Identify pipe sizes, fittings, perform refrigerant and oil conversions, and conduct electric welds on various metals.
Diagnose and repair thermostatic expansion valves, pressure regulators, and complex schematic diagrams.
Understand low/high pressure oil systems, split condensing controls, EMS controls, CO2 refrigeration, startup procedures, air‑flow testing, VFDs, defrost systems, compressor parameters, and wiring diagrams.
Detect and repair leaks on conventional and parallel rack systems, perform compressor diagnostics, and troubleshoot complex service calls.
Mentor junior technicians and lead HVAC/R preventive maintenance programs.
Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred: HVAC/R Technical School degree.
External candidates: 7 years of field experience or 5 years with a technical school certification.
Additional Information
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Physically capable of walking, bending, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working at high elevations.
Excellent verbal and written communication; detail oriented; highly motivated.
Strong mechanical aptitude with basic hand‑tool maintenance knowledge.
Availability to work nights and/or weekends as required.
Basic refrigeration and commercial HVAC knowledge preferred.
Strong leadership and business acumen.
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
Superior decision‑making and paperwork skills.
