Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Job Description

The Warehouse Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of shipping and receiving processes. This position demands keen attention to detail, as you will be responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing shipments. Your efforts will support our manufacturing process by ensuring timely delivery of materials and coordinating effectively with both internal departments and external carriers.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.

Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory using ERP or warehouse management systems.

Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries.

Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or damages.

Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.

Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, and customer service teams.

Essential Skills

At least one year of experience working in a warehouse, 3PL, or a shipping and receiving team.

Experience in processing incoming orders and inventory control.

Proficiency in shipping products and label generation.

Experience working from an order sheet, bill of lading, and computer-based inventory control software.

High attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with inventory software and shipping systems (UPS, FedEx, etc.).

Ability to lift and stand for extended periods.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean and organized, focusing on the design and manufacture of auxiliary power converters and onboard systems for railway cars. The position operates on a first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The dress code requires steel-toe boots and work pants, with the recommendation to dress in layers during colder months in case outdoor work is necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ballston Spa, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
