Travel * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract Department: Stepdown RN *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS* PRESCREEN+AUTO OFFER - # of Beds: 22 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:04 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, stroke - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- does take a full patient assignment - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: CPAP - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: RNs must read and interpret strips - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // cyclic scheduling - Weekend Requirements: Everyother - Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor - Floating Requirements: Will float to ICU if appropriate and has experience - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1- 12 hour shift in the department - Additional Notes: Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges. Attributes that help make a nurse successful in this department are a positive attitude, teamwork, patient oriented, and comes to work to care for someone Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year RTO needed upfront - Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
