Overview
What We Offer: We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic
CMDB/Hardware Asset Manager
to lead the governance, data integrity, and lifecycle management of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and hardware assets across the enterprise. Schedule:
8:00AM – 5:00PM (On call support required, as needed). Location:
Remote.
Department:
Enterprise Technology Service - IT Service Excellence
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of Configuration Item (CI) data within the CMDB.
Oversee hardware asset lifecycle processes to align with operational, security, and financial standards.
Serve as the subject matter expert for CMDB and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) practices.
Collaborate closely with a vendor-managed HAM team to ensure high-quality asset data and process outcomes.
Monitor vendor performance to ensure alignment with ITIL standards and support broader IT Service Management (ITSM) goals.
Maintain governance frameworks and drive continuous improvement in asset management processes.
Role Highlights
Not a supervisory role , but requires strong leadership and collaboration skills.
Acts as a functional lead and liaison between internal stakeholders and the vendor team.
Focused on strategic oversight rather than day-to-day operational execution.
Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in CMDB and hardware asset management within an enterprise IT environment.
Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and ITSM principles.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with vendor-managed services is a plus.
What We're Looking For Education:
High School or GED required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
Experience:
Five years, required. IT asset management, configuration management, or related areas in an enterprise environment.
Licensure/Certification:
ITIL Foundation Certification, required. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator, preferred.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Advanced understanding of configuration and asset management best practices and tools (e.g., ServiceNow CMDB & Asset).
Strong ability to audit and validate data accuracy.
Demonstrated experience with vendor oversight and IT lifecycle governance.
Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Working knowledge of hardware lifecycle processes (procurement, deployment, support, retirement).
Ability to influence and drive outcomes across teams without direct authority.
Familiarity with CMDB frameworks
Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):
Familiarity with enterprise architecture, and service mapping.
Experience managing hardware assets in a healthcare IT environment.
