Beth Israel Lahey Health We are offering a $1500.00 sign‑on bonus for full‑time positions, paid in three installments: $500 within the first 30 days, $500 after six months, and $500 after one year. All payments are subject to applicable taxes. Full‑time status is considered for schedules of 30 hours or more per week. Restrictions apply for current and former BILH candidates, as well as for internal BIDMC employees or employees who have been employed by BILH within the last 12 months. The EVS Associate Specialist performs daily cleaning tasks in high‑risk areas, patient areas, office, public, and/or other non‑patient areas. This includes daily cleaning, equipment cleaning, and project cleaning in an assigned area. The role requires greater technical skills, knowledge of compliance regulations, and a higher degree of responsibility. The specialist is responsible for respectful and compassionate communication and interaction with patients and staff. Essential Responsibilities

Perform multiple‑step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, discharge bed making, O.R. cleaning, between‑case cleaning, upholstery, wall, and glass care. Continue work from the previous shift and report all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues. Perform dry mopping and wet mopping of common areas using appropriate equipment, including a floor‑care machine. Use floor and carpet care techniques such as carpet bonneting and extraction. Respond to stat orders such as discharges, spills, floods, and all hospital‑wide emergency drills. Clean up all organic body waste (e.g., blood, feces, sputum, and urine). Clean patient equipment including IV poles, commodes, monitors and cables, specialty equipment, stretchers, wheelchairs, and cardiac chairs. Assist in moves, special set‑ups, and other occasions as needed. Collect solid and contaminated waste, seal containers, and deliver them to designated areas and the compactor. Use department procedures for preparation and selection of cleaning solutions. Report low supply of inventory to supervisor or team leader. Sign equipment in and out of storage areas, keep housekeeping cart clean, stocked, and orderly, and report malfunctioning equipment. Required Qualifications

Some High School required. 1-3 Years Related Work Experience Required. Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications. Competencies

Heavy work: Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently. Requires extended periods of standing and/or moving. Pay Range

$17.85 – $24.02 per hour. The listed range is the base hourly wage; actual compensation considers seniority, education, training, experience, certifications, location, and other factors. Compensation may exceed the base rate for shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional practices.
