Senior UX/UI Designer – OleOle (Football Social Network & Messaging Platform)
Company Overview OleOle is building the ultimate social network and messaging platform for football a native platform designed for web, mobile, and tablets. We’re creating a place where fans, clubs, and brands connect seamlessly, with features inspired by Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp, and more.
We are a startup with big ambitions but no guarantees. Three and a half weeks ago, we lost our funding, and the entire team including engineers, designers, and leadership is currently working on a deferred compensation basis until funding is secured.
What You Will Do
Develop intuitive, visually stunning interfaces that enhance user engagement across feeds, messaging, live scores, and video creation.
Work closely with product, engineering, and branding teams to create and refine interactive features for millions of football fans.
Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI components while maintaining a consistent design system.
Optimize user journeys and engagement loops, ensuring fans stay connected, entertained, and informed.
Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality implementation of designs across different devices and screen sizes.
Help shape OleOles design strategy, setting a strong foundation for a world-class football social network.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably in social media, messaging apps, or fan engagement platforms.
Startup experience; thrive in fast-paced, zero-to-one environments and can adapt quickly.
Deep knowledge of mobile-first and responsive design principles for web, iOS, and Android.
Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
Strong understanding of user psychology, interaction design, and visual storytelling.
Experience designing for high-traffic consumer platforms, particularly in social media or gaming.
A portfolio showcasing world-class design work, preferably in social, messaging, or sports apps.
Strong communication skills; can present and justify design decisions clearly.

Senior UX/UI Designer Qualifications
5+ years of UX/UI design experience, preferably in social media, messaging apps, or fan engagement platforms.
Experience designing for Rust-based web or mobile applications (or willingness to learn Rust-friendly frontend frameworks like Dioxus, Leptos, Yew, or Tauri for desktop apps).
Strong proficiency in UI/UX tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and Protopie for interaction design.
Experience designing responsive, mobile-first applications with an emphasis on fast-loading, high-performance UIs.
Deep understanding of UI patterns, interaction design, and usability best practices for both web and mobile applications.
Ability to work with developers to translate designs into highly optimized Rust-based frontends.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Familiarity with Rust-based frontend frameworks (Dioxus, Leptos, Yew, or Tauri).
Experience with WebAssembly (Wasm) or Rust-powered UI rendering.
Knowledge of motion design and animations for Rust-based interfaces (e.g., leveraging WebGL, Bevy, or other Rust-friendly graphics engines).
Experience working in gaming, fintech tech, or high-traffic platforms.
Startup experience thrive in fast-paced, high-risk, and high-reward environments.
Soft skills: problem-solving mindset, collaboration, startup mentality, passion for football.
Compensation & Benefits This role is currently deferred compensation meaning there is no salary until OleOle secures funding.
All team members are under the same conditions from leadership to engineers and designers. Risk of fundraising is unpredictable, but there is massive upside joining at this stage.
