Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
1 year of experience in software development with Java or Kotlin.
Preferred qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience in common storage services (e.g., Spanner).

We are working on Google Meet back‑end (Meetings API Server), a key technology for the Meet product, responsible for stability, reliability, and technical quality of the back‑end. AI will change the future of work profoundly, and our products—Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids, and Meet—are at the forefront. From pre‑computed summaries for email threads to summaries for meetings, and videos created from a document using lifelike AI avatars, our AI opportunity is huge. You will work with model builders (Google DeepMind) and have the ability to impact billions of users worldwide.
US base salary range: $141,000–$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Compensation details reflect base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and their impacts on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Improve availability, reliability and latency of the Meet API back‑end.
Build capabilities in the Meet API back‑end to increase developer velocity.
Refactor the code base to increase developer velocity.
