Summary
You will serve as a RIGGER SUPERVISOR I in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY to include work sites of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Trident Refit Facility Bangor and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. Applications will only be considered for positions within their own UIC.
Duties
Assign, direct, and review the work of subordinates.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate work operations.
Inspect completed work for quality and work order requirements.
Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
Requirements Prerequisites for Department of the Navy employment.
Conditions of Employment
Must be a US citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
Must pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
Retired military members within 180 days of retirement may be appointed subject to DoD policies.
Individuals born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered for Selective Service.
Position may be a bargaining unit position.
Must successfully complete a pre‑appointment physical examination.
Must obtain and maintain the required security clearance prior to duty.
Must pass a pre‑employment drug test; missing or failing the test may result in rescinded offer.
May require wearing personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, and safety shoes continuously during shifts.
Work may involve exposure to harmful physical and chemical agents; participation in medical surveillance programs may be required.
May require exposure to high noise levels.
May require travel to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites, and extended periods on military and commercial aircraft.
May require working nights, weekends, and holidays with overtime or differential pay.
Supervisors must review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct as required by law.
Qualifications Applicants must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for the position. The screening element is the ability to lead or supervise.
Education This position does not have an education qualification requirement.
