The Senior Property Accountant will maintain assigned portfolio of properties by processing cash receipts, managing cash, completing bank reconciliations, reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with annual budgets, communicating with property managers to resolve issues, completing monthly financial reporting packages, assisting with annual audits, and other various tasks.

Responsibilities

Correct Yardi transactions, including deposits in the super admin role

Perform resident ledger adjustments in Yardi

Perform full month end reporting procedure and complete monthly financial reports

Process cash receipts from various rent assistance agencies in Yardi

Online banking administration

Process banking transactions, including wire transfers

Create monthly and annual tracking record for replacement reserve requests

Prepare escrow analysis for tax and insurance

Assist with year-end audit preparation and track

Assist site staff, accounting staff and portfolio directors with questions

Update and distribute security deposit interest monthly

Maintain Master Reporting requirements. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting.

Process Real Estate Tax payments for portfolio

Prepare Common Area Maintenance (CAM) and year-end reconciliations for commercial tenants

Perform accountant duties for assigned portfolio

Assist with annual budgets in Yardi

Other assignments as directed by Controller and Accounting Manager

Train Property Accounting staff, including new employees

Assist with 1099 process for all properties

Review and maintain procedure manuals

Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree in accounting, preferred

Minimum 5 years accounting experience

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to meet deadlines

Strong computer skills, Yardi software experience a plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended period

Ability to twist, turn, bend and stoop as necessary

Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day

Full Time 40 hours per week
