Senior Industrial Security Specialist

Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Senior Industrial Security Specialist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of professionals dedicated to mission success.

Overview The Senior Industrial Security Specialist will establish and manage the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO) industrial security program, reporting to the SpRCO Government Security Director and Branch Chief. This position provides full lifecycle management of industrial security requirements for SpRCO contracts—including prime, subcontract, IDIQ, and no-cost contracts—across all classification levels and program scopes, while supporting strategic business objectives and future program initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and manage industrial security requirements across SpRCO contracts, including prime, subcontract, IDIQ, and no-cost contracts

Coordinate and advise program managers, contracting officers, and Program Security Officers on security requirements to ensure proper documentation and DD‑254 staffing and approval

Track, maintain, and manage industry partner documentation and records

Provide guidance to industry partners on obtaining and maintaining facility clearances, as coordinated with SpRCO government authorities

Serve as the SpRCO subject matter expert for Industrial Security policies, regulations, and compliance

Coordinate with Department of the Air Force personnel on program compliance, retention, record keeping, and inspections

Ensure adherence to DoD security policies and standards (e.g., DoDM 5200.01, 5105.21, 5205.07, ICD 705‑02)

Review and verify DD‑254 Contract Security Classification Specifications to prevent miscommunication regarding classified work

Support high‑visibility or mission‑critical program functions, performing duties independently

Required Skills & Experience

Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)

10+ years of DoD experience, with 4+ years in SAP/SCI environments within the last five years

May be required to consent to and successfully complete a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph

Familiarity with DoD industrial security policies, regulations, and compliance frameworks

Strong ability to coordinate, advise, and provide guidance to government and industry partners

Experience in high‑visibility, mission‑critical programs

Background in Industrial Security in DoD‑supporting roles is highly desirable

Education & Certifications

Master of Arts, Master of Science, or Master of Engineering degree (equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education)

Security Clearance A high‑level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
