LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is a high‑growth renewable energy company forging a sustainable future through integrity, innovation, and positive impact. We own and operate 30 large wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States, totaling over 3 gigawatts of generating capacity. Our goal is to reach 10GW of operating assets by 2028 and we are developing and contracting an increasing pipeline of new projects every year. Job Overview Electrical Engineer – Operations Reliability (Mid‑Senior Level). This position reports to the Engineering Manager – Electrical and is responsible for providing Electrical Engineering support to the Leeward portfolio of operating plants. The primary objectives are to lead, design, schedule, and address critical issues related to the operating fleet while ensuring that company guidelines for improving operations reliability are met.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain NERC deliverables for standards such as MOD and FAC.
Perform steady‑state power flow and short‑circuit analyses.
Monitor compliance with NERC reliability standards and address potential violations.
Validate power system models for transmission and generation assets.
Prepare technical reports and evidence packages for NERC audits.
Investigate system disturbances, perform root cause analyses, and develop mitigation plans.
Coordinate with operations, planning, and regional entities for compliance and data sharing.
Evaluate facility ratings to ensure compliance with FAC‑008.
Demonstrate willingness to learn dynamic and transient stability simulations for future studies.
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in power system engineering, preferably in a NERC‑regulated environment.
Proficiency in steady‑state power system analysis using industry tools.
Strong knowledge of NERC reliability standards such as MOD‑025/026/027 and FAC‑008.
Willingness to learn dynamic and transient stability simulations after hire.
Strong analytical skills for power flow and short‑circuit analyses.
Compensation & Location Dallas, TX – Salary range $95,000 to $110,000 – Full‑time – Mid‑Senior level.
