Insurance Defense Attorney Base Pay Range: $150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Defend clients in a wide variety of insurance matters, coverage disputes, bad faith claims, product liability, general liability, etc.

Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery; take and defend depositions.

Manage your caseload from intake through trial or resolution; strategize case directions in consultation with senior partners.

Handle litigation in both state and federal courts across Texas.

Negotiate settlements, work with experts, prepare for mediation or arbitration, and see cases through trial when needed.

Mentor more junior attorneys or associates as applicable.

Qualifications

Admitted to practice in Texas.

5–10+ years of experience defending insurance matters, in litigation and trial settings.

Excellent legal writing, motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom presence.

Ability to work in a collaborative but high‑standards environment, balancing independence with teamwork.

Scalable ability to manage multiple cases with shifting priorities.
