You will report to the HR Supervisor in the Student Life Human Resources unit, supporting the full employment life cycle for approximately 1,500 employees and 3,000 temporary employees across the Division.
Work Environment This position is hybrid, allowing for remote work and virtual meetings via Zoom and mobile devices. You will commute 2-3 days per week across campus for in-person meetings within the Ann Arbor area.

Responsibilities
Provide guidance on day‑to‑day HR matters, interpret policies, and develop solutions addressing both immediate and long‑term needs.
Partner with leaders to assess workforce needs, manage hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and employee development.
Navigate a unionized environment: advise on labor agreements, support collective bargaining, represent management in grievance matters, and conduct workplace investigations.
Manage compensation and classification processes, maintain accurate HR records, analyze metrics, and recommend process improvements.
Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, use workforce data to support staffing analysis, guide decision‑making, and drive continuous improvements for operational efficiency and employee experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent education/experience; HR certification preferred.
Five or more years of professional HR experience, including at least two years in a senior‑level partner role.
Experience leading workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations issues.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, compensation, classification, staffing analysis, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with HR systems, metrics, and reporting tools for data‑driven decision‑making.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Modes of Work Positions may be Hybrid, Mobile, or Remote as appropriate. Work agreements are reviewed annually and may change over time.

Relocation is not offered for this position.
