Pediatric Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner – Level II, Advanced Practice Providers Join UC Davis Health Informatics as a Pediatric Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (NP). The role provides independent advanced‑level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols (e.g., chemotherapy). The NP works within a team‑based care environment and serves as an expert resource for nurses, residents, and other ancillary staff.

Qualifications

Two or more years of inpatient pediatric nursing caring for children with complex, chronic and/or life‑threatening conditions and those at end of life.

Minimum six months of experience working as a nurse practitioner preferred.

National NP board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area.

American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR.

Graduation with a Master's, DNP or Ph.D. in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.

Possession of valid California RN and NP licenses without restrictions.

License and DEA certificate furnished within three months of hire.

Judgement skills to meet patients’ needs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self‑direction and organizational skills for independent work.

Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, professionals, and caretakers.

Ability to perform patient procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of pediatric nursing caring for complex or life‑threatening conditions and end of life patients.

Key Responsibilities

80% – Inpatient clinical care (may include all listed responsibilities).

NP I: $83.56 – $110.19

NP II: $87.69 – $115.72
