* Troubleshoot telephony/VOIP and data services for both systemwide and campus-wide telephony systems * Assist in the design, configuration and installation of equipment/cabling for systemwide and campus-wide telephony/VOIP services and data networks * Identify, analyze and resolve telephony/VOIP and data network problems. Coordinate resolving issues with others & communicate status * Upgrade telephony/VOIP services operating systems and hardware to keep systems working properly * Assist with design, development, testing & documentation of telephony/VOIP systems * Assist with student scheduling, supervision and training of student technicians * Organize, create and maintain documentation and diagrams * Monitor status/performance of telephony/VOIP and data services using monitoring tools & applications * Take proactive measures to troubleshoot and fix telephony/VOIP and data service abnormalities and/or initiate trouble call tickets as required * Perform campus and systemwide telephony/VOIP administration and support for equipment encompassing but not limited to servers, gateways, and cabling * Update technical skills by attending seminars, classes, and industry conferences * Keep abreast of latest developments and techniques * Support complex telephony/VOIP projects for systemwide and campus-wide deployments * Assists with planning, scheduling, and coordinating projects to ensure milestones are met Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a baccalaureate educational degree in Computer Science, or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for N/A; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated Functional knowledge of telecommunications and telecommunications management systems demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with telecommunications and telecommunications management systems Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems in the area of telecommunications and telecommunications management systems Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals Functional knowledge of local area networking standards, principals and operational aspects Functional knowledge of telephony call routing and Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) access Ability to work a variable work schedule and to work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and/or holiday hours, as directed Ability to travel to work at various locations encompassing, but not limited to neighbor island locations Desirable Qualifications

Knowledge of System Administration, Networking and TCP/IP Knowledge of SIP communications Knowledge of EIA/TIA design and wiring installation standards Knowledge of the University of Hawaii network infrastructure Knowledge of the University of Hawaii telecommunications and telecommunications management systems To Apply
