The Position:
This is an adjunct faculty position within the Department of Community Health Nursing. Applicants will design, implement and evaluate health promotion activities on campus and provide RN care to students and staff (first aid, vaccinations, etc.).
Major Responsibilities
Design, implement, and evaluate campus health promotion activities.
Provide RN care to students and staff on campus (first aid, vaccinations, etc.).
Develop, deliver, and assess lecture and lab courses as assigned.
Be available to students outside of class and maintain open communication.
Maintain professional conduct, current subject‑matter knowledge, and accurate records.
Teach all scheduled classes and create an environment encouraging discussion.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s in Nursing OR
Bachelor’s in Nursing AND
Master’s in Health Education or Health Science OR
Equivalent experience
Or the minimum qualifications set by the Board of Registered Nursing (BORN), whichever is higher.
Direct patient‑care experience within the last five (5) years in the nursing area to which the faculty member will be assigned:
One (1) year of continuous, full‑time RN patient‑care experience OR
One (1) academic year of RN clinical teaching experience demonstrating competency.
Desired Qualifications:
RN, MSN, or PHN; equivalency.
Licenses / Certificates / Credentials
RN license (licensed in California).
California Public Health Nurse certificate.
Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
Valid US work authorization.
Additional Requirements (Prior to Employment)
Submit official college transcripts and verifications of work experience.
Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam.
Undergo Live Scan fingerprinting for clearance.
Provide original documents proving eligibility to work in the U.S.
Complete any required orientation and be available to work at any site at the Chancellor’s discretion.
Pay Information Salary placement is contingent on receipt of official transcripts and work experience verification. Faculty with advanced coursework or experience will be placed on the adjacent college salary schedule effective the first month following receipt of documentation. The base salary will be at the first class/step until all requirements are met.
