Summary Board-Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery or
American Board of Surgery (or equivalent, as determined by the Medical Executive Committee, from time
to time). The head and neck surgeon provides surgical care for patients with oncological diseases and disorders that affect the ears, nose, throat, the respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures of the head and neck. Deals with the repair, reconstruction or replacement of physical defects of form or function involving the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniomaxillofacial structures. They use aesthetic surgical principles not only to improve undesirable qualities of normal structures but in all reconstructive procedures as well. Surgeon possesses special knowledge and skill in the design and surgery of grafts, flaps, and free-tissue transfer. Competence in the management of complex wounds and tumor surgery is required.
Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center.
Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group, and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The position may span the clinical and research enterprise, and supports patient care, research, and education. Respond to ENT/head and neck surgery consults and develop treatment plan, which may include urgent/emergent surgery. This is a procedural position.
Education Requirements:
MD/DO or equivalent
Florida license eligible
Completed Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology
Board certified or Board eligible in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery
ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
