Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in launching and supporting a new product line within Abbott’s Electrophysiology business unit. This role will collaborate cross‑functionally with partners in Operations, Supply Chain, and Development to ensure a smooth transition from development to full‑scale production. The engineer will also help build and lead the technical team that supports the production area.

Key Responsibilities

Lead various aspects of Operations Readiness for new product launches.

Collaborate with Research & Development and Process Development teams to build operational knowledge, plan design transfers, and execute successful production ramps.

Partner with Production and Supply Chain teams to develop ramp plans, introduce new production lines, and manage equipment ordering, receipt, qualification, and validation.

Drive cross‑functional engagement to support process, product, and equipment improvements.

Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers and technicians.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide mentorship and technical direction to engineers and technicians.

Conduct Process FMEAs and Process Validations.

Improve product quality, labour efficiency, and throughput through Lean Manufacturing principles.

Coordinate the design, procurement, build, and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.

Work with Product Development teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

Provide front‑line engineering support for day‑to‑day production needs.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical, or other Engineering/Technical field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience, with prior exposure to process development.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.

Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to motivate teams.

Proven ability to drive change, make data‑driven decisions, and multitask effectively.

Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred

Experience in the Medical Device industry.
