Job Summary Provide ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.

Essential Responsibilities

Accurately delivers the prescribed, planned course of therapy with supervision from mentor.

Performs simulation/tumor localization procedures with supervision from mentor.

Orders for care are scheduled, carried out and documented in the electronic chart.

Take weekly portal images for treatment verification and have physician check.

Take patient photos and treatment field photos and transfer to patient chart.

Checks patient & chart identification, prepares the treatment room, sets up the immobilization devices, blocks, and tattoos patients with supervision from mentor.

Assures that the patient is seen by Oncologist weekly and more often if recognizes signs of treatment complication.

Observes and practices Radiation Safety Standards.

Basic Qualifications

0–1 years of experience as Radiation Therapist.

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.

Radiation Therapist License – Temporary (Oregon) or full License within 3 months of hire.

Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate – Radiation Therapy Technologist within 3 months of hire.

Experience on linear accelerators and simulators, use of a Record and Verify system.

Ability to seamlessly administer radiation treatments according to the prescription and multi‑task.

Familiar with the use of immobilization devices.

Basic computer skills.

Working knowledge of radiation safety and current NRC regulations.

Excellent teamwork, organizational and customer skills.

Additional Requirements

Experience with HDR, SRS and IMRT treatments.

Experience in the design and creation of blocks and immobilization devices.

Good oral and written communication, analysis/problem solving and advanced computer skills.

Knowledge of Varian Linear accelerators with MLC, Varis Record and Verify system, and CT simulation.

Bachelor of Science degree in radiation oncology.
