Overview Independent Sponsor Journey Capital Group is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Owner‑CEO to acquire a highly profitable crane and oilfield services company generating approximately $1.7M in seller’s discretionary earnings (SDE).
The company has built a strong reputation serving the oil and gas industry and is expanding into municipal, construction, and civil projects. With ~40% margins, clean financials, and no formal sales team in place, this is a great opportunity to lead a well‑run, asset‑backed business with significant untapped growth potential.
Sponsor will support the equity raise and post‑close operations, providing strategic and financial resources for the new Owner/CEO to scale the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with diligence providers, close debt facility and complete acquisition in the next 90 days.
Lead all aspects of company operations and strategy post‑acquisition.
Build and manage a sales and business development function to drive new growth.
Partner with the existing general manager and staff to optimize day‑to‑day operations and financial performance.
Ideal Background
Industry Experience (preferred, not required): Exposure to construction services, crane services, equipment rental, oil & gas, heavy civil, or related industrial sectors.
Growth Mindset: Demonstrated ability to professionalize and scale a business building systems, teams, and processes to support sustained growth.
Commercial Orientation: Hands‑on experience developing sales and customer relationships, improving pricing discipline, and driving top‑line growth.
Operational Excellence: Proven track record overseeing field operations, resource allocation, and safety in a blue‑collar, service‑oriented environment.
People Leadership: Strong ability to recruit, develop, and retain high‑performing teams while fostering accountability and a culture of safety and execution.
Location Candidates must be willing to relocate and lead the business on‑site in Montana.
Highlights The asset value of real estate plus equipment exceeds the balance of the SBA acquisition loan. This is a fully collateralized transaction.
