Job Description
Be a part of the legacy: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program
Job Description
Be a part of the legacy: Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program. Our Research Laboratories’ Postdoctoral Research Fellow Program aims to be a best-in-industry program for industrial postdoctoral researchers, designed to provide you with an academic focus in a commercial environment. With the resources, reach, and expertise of a large pharmaceutical company, postdoctoral researchers will be positioned to excel in an institution committed to breakthrough innovation in research and discovery.
Postdoctoral Fellow, Quantitative Biosciences (in vitro pharmacology)
Location: Boston, MA
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our Quantitative Biosciences team to develop physiologically relevant in vitro models to investigate the MoA of novel immunotherapies for inflammatory diseases. The role will focus on assay development using human intestinal organoids and primary immune cells. The Postdoctoral Fellow will design and implement the in vitro models to assess potency, mechanism of action, and combination effects of therapeutic candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Develop co‑culture and functional assays to measure the crosstalk between intestinal epithelial cells and immune cells.
Design experiments to profile biologics and small molecules across target panels and immune cell subsets.
Understand pharmacology and mechanism of action of therapeutic targets in human intestinal organoids and primary immune cells.
Confirm findings in orthogonal assays with engineered cell lines and other molecular biology approaches and transcriptomics studies.
Independently design, plan, execute, and interpret assay data.
Maintain detailed experimental records.
Present the research work at internal and external meetings and publish in high‑impact journals.
Required Qualifications
Hold a Ph.D. or Ph.D. completed within 6 months of hire in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline, with a proven track record of first‑author publications.
Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret complex biological experiments.
Hands‑on experience in cell culture, immune cell isolation and differentiation, and human intestinal organoid models.
Strong skills in flow cytometry, ELISA/our company, cytokine multiplex assays, and cell‑based functional assays.
Experience with dose‑response analysis and standard pharmacology metrics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in research related to IBD pathogenesis, mucosal immunology, and T cell biology.
Experience with immunofluorescence, immunohistochemical staining, and/or high‑content imaging.
