Overview:
Analyze and document DPS business systems, assessing the business model and its integration with technology with distinct deliverables to a solution. Candidates will work on existing and new initiatives including Utility Assessment System, Telecommunication Company Information, Pipeline Audit System (PAS), Document and Matter Management (DMM), and 753 Enforcement support, enhancements, and development efforts.
Qualifications
Business Analyst: Analyzes an organization or business domain and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology with distinct deliverables to a solution.
Senior: 60-84 months experience; able to work independently, provide guidance, may have advanced education.
76 months experience working on Business Requirements Project as lead Analyst, involving the application of strategies to gather and document business process requirements of a new application.
76 months experience as Lead Business Analyst utilizing recognized business process management methodologies (elicitation, documentation, modeling, gap analysis, UML, etc.) to define and analyze current business processes and redesign them.
48 months experience with planning, coordinating, developing test cases and test plans to ensure user and program requirements are met.
Possession of a valid (active) IIBA CBAP certification or PMI PBA certification.
76 months experience with internal and external stakeholder communications and outreach, including development of presentations and materials promoting rethinking core business processes and envisioning a redesigned environment.
Day-to-Day Tasks
Use recognized business analysis methodologies to elicit requirements from business users for the project.
Facilitate and guide requirements sessions with IT and DPS business staff; communicate efficiently the business process requirements to IT staff, program staff and stakeholders.
Develop and document Business Requirements for the project using defined ITS template and standards; develop, analyze and revise system diagrams (flowcharts, state diagrams, strategy maps, etc.) as needed.
Ensure that requirements and deliverables are verified and validated at each phase of analysis and testing.
Track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed procedures for permanent records and use in training.
Participate in developing test plans for the project and oversee system changes or enhancements to ensure user and program requirements are met.
